Any AGs I really dislike? Okay, let's see....
UMMMMM, nope. I can't think of any. There are a couple I feel lukewarm about -- maybe Nellie and Kaya. I had them both at one time and sold them. I also couldn't bond with Kirsten even though I thought she was a cute doll. I do have Elizabeth, but she's certainly not my favorite. I tend to prefer the brunettes and redheads even though my daughter is a natural blond.

There aren't really any dolls that I don't like but I have to admit that Kirsten is my least favorite. I've had a couple in my possession and just didn't warm up to either of them. I'm not really into blond blue-eyed dolls, except for Kit who has always been adorable! I prefer dolls with any color of hair and brown eyes. Kailey is especially pretty with her light blond hair and brown eyes.

What an interesting topic! I'm really surprised to see how many people said Molly was their least favorite. Of the historicals, I guess Kaya would be my least favorite.

Blond is beautiful. All hair colors are beautiful. I do wonder, though, why are people so against what is popular? Lots of people dislike popular Samantha or blondes or Barbie or whatnot. Going against the grain just to go against the grain is just as silly as going with the crowd just to go with the crowd, KWIM? I mean, I can see doing what you like, really like, but not what's popular/unpopular simply because it's popular/unpopular. *shrugs* Anyway......
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Did you read the post I made? I wouldn't have kept arguing, except I think what you said is quite rude.

Sorry, but what in the world makes you think that anyone who's posted saying they don't love the blonde dolls is just doing it to be different? I think it's pretty obvious that no one is doing that. That's like assuming everyone who dislikes Samantha does so ONLY because she's the most popular AG. I doubt that's true for most people.

I don't like blonde hair because I find it overly used, and I think the other hair colors are prettier. It's unfortunate that it's getting to that point, because it's beautiful when it's natural, or looks natural, and slightly uncommon. My favorite hair color is red, because it's so uncommon, and hardly ever used. There's less red head AGs in the entire AG collection than there are blondes or brunettes just in the AGT collection. I like that.

People are against what is popular because it takes away from what's less popular. Samantha gets new outfits all the time. Addy, Josefina, Kirsten, don't. Therefore people who normally would like Samantha dislike her. Blonde hair is used more than it should be, and takes away from them making dolls of other hair colors and, especially, other ethnicities, therefore blonde hair is liked less by some people.

I think blonde hair is beautiful, as are the other hair colors, and I don't mind new blonde dolls, I just think they're over-using the blonde hair, and using the other colors less. Which is just giving more little girls the view that blonde hair is prettier than the other colors. Not really something we need more of in this country.

I tried to choose dolls based on what was different. Samantha, Kirsten, Lissie with the classic face molds don't stand out to me. Kit has a classic mold, but her short hair and freckles appealed to DD she started out our collection. Addy and Josefina have different face molds. Molly has the classic, but we have her finally because I love her time period in history. We have the Asian AGOT, Jess, AG 26 and Marisol. I think it makes our collection more diverse. I would like to add Kaya and AG 21, but we will wait until after Emily comes home to be with Molly.

Kit is our only blond doll. I agree with those who say that Elizabeth looks too much like an 18 inch Barbie. Samantha's collection is too large and out of my ability to collect everything for her at this stage. It is also very frilly, which just isn't my personality. Lissie's was also a problem for us at the start, having come into AG long after her collection had been removed and shortened.

It's not that I don't like certain dolls based on the color of their hair. Alot of it has to do with their collection pieces and whether or not I think we'd be able to connect with it.

I think they are all beautiful in their own way, but some are just not right for us.

I don't really like the entire AGT line. (No, don't throw virtual snowballs at me! ) I used to like them when I was younger, and at one time had two of them. As time went on, the novelty wore off, and I thought AG was, through this line, trying to get everyone to buy more more more expensive, trendy clothing as the seasons changed. Oddly, I don't mind other present-day dolls, but to me, AG will always be the company of historical character dolls, and while AGTs are fine for others, to me they don't seem as "AG" as the historical characters.

I forgot the friend dolls until I read everyone's responses. So far, all of the friend dolls have been a huge disappointment to me. I wish they'd created new face mold(s) for them and had stuck with the original appearances of the girls. I know a lot of people think Nellie is similar to the books, but the original concept for Nellie was brown hair, so she is also not similar to the books. To me, the friend dolls have been indicative of AG trying to make money and not staying true to the original characters. Since these are characters I've "known" for 16 years, it's difficult for me to accept such sweeping changes that seem to have no purpose.

I like blond dolls myself...... When I got Elizabeth I couldn't take my eyes off of her....personally I love all of the hair colors. There are a lot of blond and brown haired little girls so that may be why there are mostly blond and brown haired dolls, so girls can have a doll like them.

On the blonde hair topic . . .

One reason some of us don't like it is because people don't have their dye tone (warm or cool) matched to their skintone. Having very light or very dark colors next to the face (example: pale blonde or dark black) can make people look drained/pale if not done in the right shade. (People with their natural haircolor don't have this problem.) Many people with bottle blonde hair have used the wrong dye tone for their skintone. This is one reason experts recommend you go to a professional instead of doing haircolor on your own at home. People who repeatedly bleach their hair get thin, damaged hair, too, and breakage. So it's understandable that folks would not like the overall look of bottle-blonde hair. (Still, I feel it's everyone's choice if they want to dye their hair.)

Brown is the "in" haircolor right now, though. I wonder how long that will last.

The Elizabeth doll is one doll where I think the skintone and hair don't match (just from photos I've seen), which might be the problem.

Well....I can't say that I DISLIKE any of them but, if pressed to choose, I'd say Kaya is my least favorite.

I love her teepee and accessories but, there is just something about her that I just don't love...
